Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Meeting 2006 Report

The 40th annual meeting of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (formerly known as AABT) was held in Chicago, IL this year.

A record-setting attendance for the 40th anniversary of the association's annual convention set the tone for an energetic and exciting scene as luminaries and leaders in the field mingled with the growing numbers of student members.
The windy city lived up to its name, but that didn't keep visitors from braving the chill to attend key sessions and browse the exhibit floor.

Dr. Barry McCarthy (right) answers a question about his book, Getting it Right the First Time.

Dr. Nikolaos Kazantzis (right) made the trip from New Zealand to autograph copies of his book, Using Homework Assignments in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

The Routledge Practical Clinical Guidebooks Series was a huge hit at the conference, especially the latest volume in the series - Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment for Generalized Anxiety Disorder by Michel Dugas and Melissa Robichaud, which was sold out before the final day. Congratulations to Anna McGillis from Central Michigan University, who won a set of the first four volumes in the PCG Series in our annual raffle.
Thank you to all of our friends, colleagues, authors, and customers who helped to make this a successful conference. We will look forward to seeing all of you again next year in Philadelphia, PA - November 15-18, 2007!
